Catching on to Computers I

In this class you will learn basic computer skills and an introduction to Word and Internet use. Classes are held the first two weeks of every month on Tuesday's and Thursdays. Participants need to attend all 4 sessions

Catching on to Computers II

Int this class you will learn how to insert pictures, create list, make columns, draw tables and more. Classes are held the last two weeks of every other month on Tuesdays and Thurdays. Participants need to attend all sessions.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes

Do you need help with English? Do you want to speak more fluently and understand English better at work and in your everyday life? Then this ESL class is for you! This class is offered by The Literacy Center of West Michigan and The SOURCE.
What we offer:
o 12 weeks of ESL instruction with experienced instructors
o Instruction in speaking, listening, reading and writing
o Free use of online computer software to help you improve reading and math skills
Classes are FREE!

Financial Literacy Classes

Presented by Flagstar Bank and The SOURCE, these 12 week financial literacy classes focus on many essential banking topics, such as: Introduction to Bank Services, Borrowing Basics, Introduction to Credit, How to Choose and Keep a Checking account, and much more!

Eligible program participants may open a Personal Development Savings Account where, during the course of the classes, Flagstar Bank will match 50 cents to every dollar. That means you could save up to $300!

Financial Management Classes

This class will help individuals develop and improve skills in money management, budgeting, and long-term financial planning. Small class size allows for more personal assistance. This class is free for employees of SOURCE companies with a SOURCE referral and are offered by and located at The Inner City Christian Federation. Note: a prerequisite class is needed prior to first class, which is a 6 hour Introduction to Home ownership. Free Income Tax Preparation

For the eighth straight year, The SOURCE is providing free income tax preparation assistance for single adult or two adult families with one or more child that earned $49,000/year and single individuals and families with no dependants that earned less than $29,000/year. Tax returns are filed electronically, so you will have your money as quickly as possible. Starting Monday, January 24th, The SOURCE will be open to prepare taxes BY APPOINTMENT each Monday evening from 6-9pm, Thursday from 1-7pm and every Saturday morning from 9am-noon. We have qualified volunteer professionals that are specifically trained to help you get every possible tax credit for which you qualify. This service is free of charge and we would like to serve the employees and families of SOURCE member companies as well as the general public.

Home Maintenance Workshop Series

ICCF is offering home maintenance workshops. Their goal isn't to help you find a home and leave you to figure the rest out on your own. They want you to understand how to care for your home so you're not overwhelmed by the responsibility. They want you to save money by performing repairs yourself rather than hiring someone else. Classes are every Thursday from 6:00 - 9:00 pm and include the following topics: Budgeting, Consumer Protection, Neighborhood Associations, Wall Repair & Painting Tips, Electrical, Plumbing, Investing, Structural, Insurance, Landscaping I, Landscaping II and Mortgage Readiness

Note:Participants need to complete the Introduction to Home Ownership class before taking ICCF's Home Maintenance and Management Workshops.

Introduction to Home Ownership Classes

This 6 hour class teaches participants how to prepare for home ownership, how to shop for a home, the advantages of home ownership, what to expect during the mortgage process, and low cost ways to get into home ownership. There is a $5 cost associated with the class for members of the public, which must be paid in advance upon registration. This class is free for employees of SOURCE companies with a SOURCE referral. Child care is available during the evening sessions for children ages 2 and older. Introduction to Home Ownership is offered by and located at The Inner City Christian Federation. Orientation Pathways to Prosperity

Pathways to Prosperity funds allow YOU to get real training for real jobs! Training is offered for many job types, including: Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Green Facilities Management, Advanced Battery Manufacturing, Attend a free information session to find out if you qualify!

Spanish for Neighbors I Evening

Spanish for Neighbors I is an introductory Spanish class designed for individuals who have had little to no exposure to the Spanish language. This class teaches students basic conversational Spanish, including basic vocabulary and sentence structure. There is a $40 charge for the class, which includes all materials. Classes run twice a week, for four weeks.
