01/25/2010 - What to Bring to your Tax Appointment

Here is what to bring:
o Social Security Cards (ITIN)
Bring one for everyone on the return (spouse, children, yourself, other dependents)
o W-2 forms. These will be sent to you from your employer. Be sure to bring all of them!
o Rent or mortgage information
If you pay rent, know the amount of rent you paid each month and the landlord's address. If you own a home, know the taxable value of the property and property taxes.
o Heating expenses
Know the total amount you paid for heat from 11/1/08 to 10/31/09. Add up your bills or call your heating company to find out the amount.
Contact DTE Energy at 1-800-477-4747 or bring you October bill because it should contain information for the full year.
o Any other tax forms sent to you
These could be sent from banks, unemployment compensation, social security, FIA, or other aide sources. The envelope will be marked with the words "Important Tax Document."
o A copy of last year's return, if possible.

Conozca la cantidad total que usted pago por la calefaccion(el gas) desde el 11/1/08 hasta el 10/31/09.
Sume sus cuentas o llame a DTE para que le digan la cantidad (1-800-477-4747) o puede traer su cuenta de Octubre.
o Cualquier otra forma de impuesto que le enviaron.
Estas pueden ser formas que los bancos le enviaron, compensacion por desempleo, del seguro social, ayuda del estado u otras formas de ingresos que recibio. El sobre dira "Important Tax Document".
o Una copia de su declaracion de impuestos del 2008, si es posible.
